Forged in 1984.
Proven since the Middle Ages.
Few regions pose as many building considerations as those located along the coast. Severe weather in the form of gale force winds and torrential downpours contributes with very aggressive salt spray limiting viable building choices. Steel in particular is highly reactive with sea salts and rusts in a very short time.
Stainless steel on the other hand is the perfect choice for these circumstances. In fact, its primary objective in the architectural world is for use in coastal environments. It was born for the job!
Our stainless steel has been tested for over 30,250 hours of continual exposure to salt spray without showing any signs of rust.
Our copper-clad stainless shingles have undergone 1,000 hours of salt spray testing per ASTM B117 and showed no signs of corrosion.
Our solid copper shingles will weather more quickly than in inland areas, but hold up well against the sea elements as the Statue of Liberty can attest.
Since all of our fasteners are stainless steel, there is no chance of failure to corrosion on any part of our system. Even our solar panel holders are made of stainless steel.
Wind has no effect on our shingles, whether painted or not and our wide variety of paints and bare materials are UV reflective. These properties guard against material deterioration.
The combination of the strength of our system with the corrosion resistant materials from which it is made, results in a perfect coastal building solution.
