Quality metal panels for roof and wall with a horizontal layout

Quite some time ago, we wrote about how, in Germany in particular, slates for roofs have historically never been installed horizontally, even though they are crafted with horizontal details and oriented for installation in a horizontal manner. This is actually a bit of an optical illusion, as they are ever so slightly set on an angle to better direct water and establish effective water channels. https://spenglerindustries.com/news/watch-out-for-water-how-the-right-roof-stays-water-tight/

For metal roof systems, the methods that work for slates don’t always have the best translation. Many years ago, we steered clients out of a horizontal system for this reason. We’re passionately dedicated to permanence and function and were worried especially for our clients in heavy slow load and wind-driven rain environments. It is for that reason we developed a much stronger and vastly improved, highly engineered horizontally oriented panel we call our Quadro panels. https://spenglerindustries.com/products/quadro-panels/

Similar in look to Vail panels and other such horizontally directed systems, our Quadro panels aren’t even in the same category when it comes to performance. In brief, they hold up on their own. They don’t flip and flop around. They are rigid. They fully interconnect (real, interlocking connections, not just flimsy tabs) with other shingles and ALL the other roofing components, so no caulking or sealants, soldering or other cheap and quick and temporary fixes will ever be required. They are installed with hidden fasteners thereby keeping the systems leak proof and intact. Since all the pieces interlock and don’t just overlap as with those other systems, it is among the strongest roofing options anywhere. In severe winds, it’s more likely the whole roof would blow off than any piece of it. And that would have to be a heck of a wind!

Perhaps most importantly, Quadro panels have established water channels so there’s no ambiguity for where the water will go. There’s no chance for capillary effect. A roof with Quadro panels is a permanent, leak-proff, maintenance-free solution. And it’s really great looking on top of that.

Quadro panels can be used in areas with high winds and heavy snow loads. We even have snow abatement solutions to go with them! If you are looking for a metal roof with a horizontal layout that can stand up to these extreme environments, look no further! you have found your solution.

Quado panels can be made in any of the architectural metals we offer. That’s most architectural grades and finishes of stainless steel, PVDF painted galvalume, copper, zinc and zinc finishes, terne, brass, and other exotic metals, alloys and finishes. They are also customizable. With all the options for budget, look and specific environmental performance, Quadro panels are a perfect choice for most projects.

Quadro panels are also the perfect choice for wall cladding and rainscreen systems. In fact, they tend to be a client favorite where the roof transitions directly to the wall. Seen here:

Quadro panels can also be mixed with other systems like our Diamond, Plumeria or Standing Seam to name a few.

Cosmo and Corrugreat are best for wall and rainscreen, but as we’re showing off horizontal systems:

What’s a rainscreen? Probably the best thing you could ever do for your building:

Also, remember we develop custom systems all the time, so if you’re looking for anything specific horizontal or otherwise, make sure to call us!

But since we’re on the subject of Quadro panels, here are some pictures for your review so you can start thinking about planning with them on your next project:
